We’ve built LiveChat on the idea that helping others is as much important as creating a great product. While turning simple live chat app into a robust business platform, we’ve gained tons of knowledge about growth and customer relations. Our mission is to share our knowledge, bring personal touch to online communication and never stop loving what we do.
When we founded LiveChat, we knew we want to create something extraordinary. We had passion, we were ambitious, we believed we would move mountains. We wanted to re-shape the face of online communication.
We just needed to learn how. Our history dates to 2002, when we sat down and decided to change how businesses communicate with their customers. Back then, we had no idea how hard it would be – we just knew we wanted to build the best live chat app on the market. Easier said than done!
Our first LiveChat release wasn’t perfect. In fact, it was far from perfect; it was just a simple app that allowed our customers to introduce new channel of communication. But for the first time in our history, we delivered a product that we believed will change the definition of Customer Service Experience forever. First years weren’t easy.
During our beginnings, we have come to a point where we had to deeply reconsider our budget. Back then no one ever thought that live chat would become one of the most important channels in customer service market – and this applied to potential investors as well. Add to that a market recession, and you have a ready-made formula for “Ooops! I think that we are running out of money!” situation. We eventually came to the point when, during our “be or not to be” dinner with our investors, we prayed that our bill would not exceed $100. That was all the money we had.
But at the same time, we didn’t stop believing that our product would be successful. We’ve never stopped developing it, and we still believed that we would succeed. It was our leap of faith.
And then, suddenly, something has changed: we started to have more and more customers. In 2011, after years of hard work, we had a thousand of paying customers. We doubled this number in a year. In 2014 the company went public on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, while a year later In 2015 we were proud to announce that 10k companies are using LiveChat, but the craziest things were still just to come. In 2017, 15 years after we created LiveChat, we were insanely happy to support 20k companies from around the world!
You might think that many have changed since then. Our team consists of 100+ people now, and we had to change our office to a bigger one (a couple of times!). However, we still don’t work in a classic office, but rather a big house. Now, we have much more chats with our customers, and LiveChat is as close to being perfect as possible. But you know what? The most important thing didn’t change.
We still are passionate about what we do. We love to help other companies grow, we love building our app (and have fun while doing it), and we still believe that we’re shaping the future of online communication. One thing that has changed is that now we have the experience. We know how difficult it is to start as a garage startup and build your way to the top, against all the odds. And that’s why we want to help you to use LiveChat so it suits your needs, but we also want to share our knowledge and experience in building an online business.
