Get Over Burnout Syndrome

When you’re off work, is your time. Try to use it wisely.

you know when you start a new job that that cool feeling of everything is new, you get to meet new people, play with new toys, new responsibilities. Everything is exciting and a little bit later that feeling starts going away, which is normal but sometimes that feeling instead of just going away, start becoming a negative feeling. We feel bad, we don’t want to get off our bed, and we just hate everything if you feel that way you’re probably going through the burnout syndrome and just let me read you the definition: “Burnout is a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion caused it by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed and unable to meet constant demands. As the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest or motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place.” If that sounds familiar you probably going through it, and it’s normal, it’s okay. We’re going through that sometimes I mean I’ve been through it and if that’s happening to you today, we have a couple of tips or advice on how to try to get out of the burnout syndrome. welcome again.

So the first thing you can do is try to work smarter, you probably heard “work smarter, don’t work harder” and even though it’s easy to say, try to do something about it. And by working smarter I mean try to automate some of the tedious stuff that you have to do. For example email listings or scheduling, there are a lot of tools that allows you to do that automatically. You can sign in for MailChimp for example just to take care of all your emails or use wunderlist to organize your schedule for the day try to organize it in a way that everything is set up for you so you can focus on what matter the most.

Try to unplug and I mean literally unplug. when you get home put your phone away, don’t sleep with your phone next to your bed put your phone charger somewhere away so you don’t have to worry about notifications in the middle of the night. And even turn off notifications. you shouldn’t be worried about things when you’re off work when you’re off work is your time try to use it wisely.

This might be a very hard one but say NO to social media. Unless you’re a social media community manager, you shouldn’t be spending that much time in social media. It’s very normal for us to get to work and go through it once in a while, but if you want to use every break that you have just to go back to social media, you don’t give a rest to your brain. So try to use your breaks to go out for a quick walk, try to have lunch don’t you spend all that time off during your breaks stuck on Facebook, Tik Tok, or LinkedIn

Try to relax and I know it’s not something easy to do at work, but if you find little times to micro-meditate for example, it will help you to relax and level down your stress. If you sit down in front of a computer try to focus on the sound of your breathing, breath in for five seconds, hold it in there breathe out for five seconds if you do that for a few times during the day hopefully your stress levels are going to go down

And the last advice is to work less, and yes it is hard but what one of the things you can do is to take advantage of your vacation days, I mean 41% of Americans don’t take at all a day off work. Don’t be like that use your vacation days that they’re there for a reason, it’s for your own sanity and for your own health, so every time you can, try to take some time off

These are just little steps in order to get out of the burnout syndrome, it’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s also not impossible. You can do this. Don’t feel the pressure of trying to balance your work and life, after all work is part of life. So try to find the positive side of things, try to do things that it will put your mind in a better place. Hopefully that will help and if you need any more information or this or more go and check our blog post and we’ll see you next time
