Text Messaging or SMS integration for LiveChat?

I’m wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a text messaging integration with LiveChat? I’d like to be able to complete two-way transactional text messaging and have all communication run through LiveChat.

I saw that Twilio was featured, but I reached out to them and they basically said it won’t work for me as it’s not plug & play, it’s for developers… I’m definitely not a developer and would be looking for something a little bit more ready made. Anyone have any suggestions or currently use an integration with LiveChat for texting that works well?

When it comes to Twilio, it’s not like they’ve said – when you use our integration, you don’t need developer skills to implement it.
All you have to do is create a Twilio account.

Thanks @Lukasz_W! You likely helped save them the sale as I was ready to give up on it, but have set up an account and you’re right, it’s very easy with the LiveChat integration!

Do you know if it will work with ChatBot? For example, our Chatbot is active after all the agents have left… so if someone texts the number, will it automatically then go through the ChatBot like any other visitor?

One more question @Lukasz_W , do you know if there is any plan to allow for pictures to be sent via LiveChat/Twilio integration? Looks like it’s working for us, that’s the only feature that isn’t supported via LiveChat at this time.

Ok, I’m back with the answers:

Firstly – yes, this integration works with ChatBot is working, but only plain text messages will be sent. Rich messages are not available.

Second thing – yes, but we do not know the ETA yet. We’ll announce it for sure when it’ll be ready! :slight_smile:
