What do Back-end Developers love about their role at LiveChat?
Before we get into technicalities, here’s a little testimonial from other Back-end Developers (your future teammates) working at LiveChat:
We create innovative, world-class engineering solutions. We don’t mean to brag, but in our daily work, we solve unconventional problems you can’t really google. Whenever possible, we open-source our libraries and share them with the developer community. @Olek
We all make impactful contributions. Some of our best solutions or even products started as someone’s side projects. You’ll have our full support in turning your idea into practice: time, necessary tools, and experts’ advice. @Bartek
Procedures don’t stand in our way. You don’t need hundreds of permissions to start a project or get a new laptop. We’re a flat organization, where people trust each other and approach one another as partners. We’ve always avoided excessive bureaucracy and we want to keep it that way. @Jan
The measure of seniority is independence. Our junior backend devs work on the same problems as regular and senior developers. The difference is in the amount of help they get in the way. No matter your seniority level, you’ll get creative, responsible, and challenging tasks. @Marcin
About the role:
You’ll be a member of the Platform API team responsible for developing our core backend services.
You’ll develop the API used internally in our products. Thanks to that, you’ll get to cooperate with various teams.
We’re open to experimenting with new technologies. We analyze each problem and choose the right tools to solve it.
Who we’re looking for?
Seniority level & experience: We’re open to all seniority levels, but having some practical experience is a must. However, what you did matters more than how long you were doing it. We don’t calculate the seniority level based on years of experience.
Technical skills: You should know at least one backend programming language, and it doesn’t have to be Go or Node.js. However, if it’s not one of those, we expect you are willing to learn them over time. We’re advocates of software craftsmanship, who truly care about the quality of their code. We hope you share those values too.
Soft skills & attitude: We’re a team of developers driven by passion, who enjoy each other’s company and like to joke around. At the same time, we’re open to feedback, both positive and negative. We don’t avoid difficult subjects but resolve problems by discussing them. We’ll get along well if you’re cheerful, ready to give & take feedback, and passionate about coding. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach can make up for a more modest experience.
Language skills: You need to have very good knowledge of written and spoken English.
Working in an environment of passionate people on big-league projects (on products that attract more than 33k paid customers worldwide and counting) and used worldwide by millions of people every month.
Solid salary with all government expenses covered. Any change in obligatory government fees is automatically adjusted in your salary.
All the equipment and tools you will ever need to succeed in your work.
